Under the hood

The privacy model, in plain text.

  • Screenshots are blurred client-side before upload — the raw image never leaves the device.
  • URL capture is opt-in per project and pauses when an incognito window is active.
  • Productivity state is a local classification — no keystroke contents, no clipboard reads.
  • Capture is configurable per project, per person, per device — defaults err on private.
  • Data is encrypted at rest, retained 30 days by default, exportable any time.

Common questions.

Do you record keystrokes?

No. We log input cadence (how often you press keys) but never what you press. Same for clipboard reads — we never touch them.

Can people turn screenshots off?

Yes. Per-person, per-project, per-device. Capture is opt-in at the workspace level — and any team member can pause it on their own machine at any time.

How is "productive" decided?

Workspace owners tag apps and URLs as core / non-core / unproductive once. We learn the team's pattern over time and surface suggested re-classifications, never auto-applied.

What about VPN, captive portals, or air-gapped machines?

Activity capture works fully offline. Data syncs the next time the device sees the internet — your local SQLite store is the source of truth.

Can I see what data is being collected about me?

Yes. Every user sees their own raw activity stream in-app and can export it as JSON or CSV at any time. We never hide your data from you.

Is activity capture available on every plan?

Activity is included on Team and Business. Free and Solo plans get manual time tracking only — by design, because activity is for *team* coordination, not solo work.
